Kai Niggemann (he) is a versatile composer,producer and sound designer from Cologne. He composes and creates using analog and digital means, relying mainly on the Buchla 200e synthesizer. His music focusses on developing a language of timbre and the movement of sound in space, e.g. through the use of multi-speaker setups. 

Kai plays solo and in different bands and projects, writes music for music theater, dance and performing arts, as well as radio plays and radio. He is part of the label for new music theater Paradeiser Productions. Together with Conni Trieder (electronics, voice & flute) he is “DUNKELWELLEN”, with Emily Welther (voice, electronics, performance) he forms “dAMAGEMENT”.

From 2013-2021 he was a member of the jazz/kraut/noise collective The Dorf.

He produces “Radio Oracle” (on 674FM), a program about audio plays, features, music theater and sound art. He has toured and performed in Germany, Europe, the USA and Japan. His productions are released by the labels eMergency hEarts (USA), Ante Rasa (Belgium), Kalakuta Soul (DE) Component Recordings (USA), Voidstar Productions (USA) and his own label WAF80music (DE) among others.
